Therefore, you are consuming all the nutrition listed on our label, straight from Zen Basil bag. It is best to drink plenty of fluids when consuming Zen Basil seeds dry. This will help prevent any choking hazard or digesting issues.
Zen Basil seeds hydrate rather quickly, you may use them straight from the bag dry into your smoothie mixer and they hydrate in the blender in about 15 sec.
Note, the longer you blend the thicker and creamier they become. Adjust the blender’s timing according to your preference.
The hydrated seeds do activate more of the enzymes. Plus, you may turn 2 Tbsp of the seeds into a full cup of goodness, a little bit goes a long way.

The fastest way to hydrate Zen Basil seeds is in room temperature water.
The ratio is 2 Tbsp to 1/2 cup of water:
Hot water hydrates Zen Basil seeds fully in 1 min.
Room temperature water hydrates Zen Basil seeds in 3 to 5 min.
Cold water or cold milk will hydrate Zen Basil seeds in 20 min, or best to refrigerate overnight just like overnight oats.
Once they are fully hydrated, add your favorite milk, yogurt, fruit, and toppings.

Zen Basil seeds can be consumed both dry and hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids when consuming the seeds dry.

Yes, any liquid such as juice, tea, or your choice of milk. Zen Basil seeds will get hydrated in any liquid. However, we find it best to be hydrated in water for full hydration purposes.

Not the dry seeds, only when it’s hydrated. Even when the bag is opened, dry seeds should be stored in room temperature.
